Vietnam: A Land of Surprises, Colors and Energy
Vietnam is a country that grabs your attention with its energy, beauty and unpredictability. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had entered a place where the old and new mix everywhere—where ancient traditions live alongside fast-growing cities.
My journey began in Hanoi, a city that never seems to sleep. The streets were full of motorbikes squeezing through tiny spaces, the air smelled of delicious street food and the sound of honking horns created a kind of chaotic music. At first, crossing the street felt impossible, but I soon learned the secret—just walk, don’t stop and trust the traffic to move around you.
But Vietnam is more than its cities. One of the most amazing moments of my trip was seeing Ha Long Bay. Sailing through the emerald-green water, surrounded by giant limestone islands, felt like a dream. As mist covered the bay, it looked like a scene from an old legend. I kayaked between the cliffs, explored hidden caves and watched the sunset turn the sky pink and orange.
From the north, I traveled south to Hoi An, my favorite stop. This town felt like stepping into a postcard—streets glowing with lanterns, old houses and a quiet river reflecting the warm evening lights. It was the perfect place to slow down, visit ancient temples and enjoy a bowl of cao lầu, a special noodle dish from the city.
One of the most unforgettable parts of my trip was the Ha Giang Loop in northern Vietnam. Riding a motorbike through the breathtaking mountain landscapes was an adventure like no other. The winding roads took me past deep valleys, dramatic limestone peaks and tiny villages where life seemed untouched by time. I stopped to meet local ethnic communities, shared tea with welcoming strangers and admired the endless views of terraced rice fields stretching into the horizon. Every turn in the road revealed another stunning scene, making Ha Giang one of the most spectacular places I’ve ever explored.
And then there was the food. Vietnam is a paradise for food lovers. From the first bite of pho at a tiny street stall to crispy bánh mì filled with fresh herbs and grilled meat, every meal was an adventure. Vietnamese coffee, strong and sweet with condensed milk, became my daily routine. I even tried egg coffee in Hanoi—a surprisingly rich and creamy treat.
Vietnam is full of contrasts. It is busy but peaceful, modern but traditional and full of surprises at every turn. But more than anything, it’s a place that stays in your heart long after you leave. The friendly people, the breathtaking landscapes and the unforgettable food make it a country you’ll always want to return to.
If you ever visit, go with an open mind and an empty stomach—you’ll love it.
